Honda Builds a Civic Made Just for Classic Video Game Lovers

Many of us 30-somethings grew up with some sort of video-game controller in our hands and a series of games that you loved. If you were a Nintendo fan, you had the Mario series, and if you were a SEGA fan, like me, you had the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Sadly, SEGA, as a console, died long ago, but the Sonic series lives on. Recently, Honda paid tribute to the Sonic series with a specially crafted Civic sedan.

This “Sonic Civic” was shown off at the Comic-Con during the Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary celebration. This rig features everything one would expect of a rig that pays tribute to the iconic game, save for the seemingly endless theme song. It features custom rollers that are painted to look like the gold rings from the game up front and Sonic’s iconic red and white shoes on the rear. Completing the Sonic-inspired looks on the outside is a wrap and a special Sonic Blue and Yellow paint scheme.

Inside, the Sonic-inspired bits continue with a bespoke interior with Katzkin blue leather seats, with “Sonic the Hedgehog” 25th-anniversary embroidery. Like many customized show rigs, this special Civic also has a powerful A/V system that includes a pair of 500-watt 10-inch subs, two 400-watt amps, and a flip-up, floor-mounted 32-inch TV.
Of course, this custom Civic is not for sale as Honda built is specifically for this event, so there is no chance of you getting one in your garage—unless you create your own, of course.
